Transportation Scholars Program

The TAMU Transportation Scholars Program (TSP) is a part of the Southwest Region University Transportation Center affiliated with the Texas Transportation Institute. This program, which is managed by faculty in the Zachry Department of Civil Engineering at Texas A&M University, promotes the academic and scholarly development of graduate and undergraduate students in the department. The program has two components: the Graduate Transportation Scholars Program and the Undergraduate Transportation Scholars Program.

Graduate Transportation Scholars Program

The purpose of the Graduate Transportation Scholars Program is to advance scholarly development of transportation graduate students enrolled in the transportation engineering and materials programs in the Zachry Department of Civil Engineering at Texas A&M University . The eligibility for the program is defined by the U.S. Department of Transportation (currently open to U.S. citizens and permanent residents). Students admitted to the program will receive several financial benefits including tuition and fees paid by the program, an additional monthly fellowship stipend paid by the program, and travel expenses to attend the TRB Annual Meeting. In addition, the student will work on a research project that provides a monthly research stipend. The following links provide more details about specific aspects of this program:

Undergraduate Transportation Scholars Program

The purpose of the Undergraduate Transportation Scholars Program is to promote interest in transportation research among undergraduate students. In this program, selected undergraduate students from across the U.S. will spend a portion of the summer working on a research project and learning about the transportation research program at Texas A&M University and the Texas Transportation Institute. During the summer program, undergraduate students will be responsible for preparing a work plan to accomplish a research objective, conducting the plan, and reporting the results. Students will work directly with a TAMU faculty member or TTI full-time researcher during their assignment. Students will also meet with selected current graduate students to gain additional insight into the Texas A&M programs. The program will emphasize the development of, or contribution to, journal papers as a product of the summer program. The following links provide more details about specific aspects of this program:
