Application Process: Department RequirementsStep 6 of 8: Letters of RecommendationGraduate applicants should provide three recommendations from individuals who are familiar with your academic achievement and potential. If you have been out of school for a number of years and are unable to contact former professors, you may submit non-academic references (e.g., employers). The College of Engineering now uses an online letter of recommendation system. After you have submitted your electronic application, you will receive a TAMU-generated Universal Identification Number (UIN) via email in 3-10 days. You will then be able to log onto the applicant web site - applicant.tamu.edu. At this site you will be able to enter in the contact information for your recommenders, and track the status of letters of recommendation, and the status of your entire application. Please do not use the paper recommendation forms for applications to the Department of Civil Engineering for any applications for terms after the fall of 2007. |
