- The Center for Building Design & Construction
The Center for Building Design and Construction brings together expertise within civil engineering from structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, and construction engineering, along with the College of Architecture.
- The Center for Dredging Studies
The Center for Dredging Studies conducts research and development and disseminates information in areas involving efficient dredging systems for shallow and deep-water operations.
- The Center for Sustainable Water Systems
The Center for Sustainable Water Systems is an outgrowth of the Center for Sustainable Enterprises. The newly evolved center will concentrate on systems for sustainable management of water supplies used for municipal, industrial and agricultural purposes; including wastewater treatment, reuse and recycle, water quality of streams and aquifers, water-related environmental resources, flooding, and urban storm water drainage.
- The International Center for Aggregates Research
The International Center for Aggregates Research has become an international leader in aggregates research, aggregates technology transfer & education. This is a joint effort between Texas A&M University & the University of Texas.
- The Offshore Technology Research Center
The Offshore Technology Research Center is a joint venture between Texas A&M University, the University of Texas, the National Science Foundation, and the offshore industry. The center was established to undertake basic engineering research in support of economic resource development in deep offshore waters.

Technical Committee Number 33 of the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering.
- Southwest Region University Transportation Center
The Southwest Region University Transportation Center has developed a stable, consistent program that is maturing in its role as a center of excellence for transportation research and education in Region 6. The theme for the SWUTC is Transportation Solutions to Enhance Prosperity and the Quality of Life.
- The Texas Transportation Institute
The mission of TTI is to solve transportation problems through research, to transfer technology, and to develop diverse human resources to meet the transportation challenges of tomorrow.
