The Zachry Department of Civil Engineering offers four graduate degree programs in both Civil Engineering and Ocean Engineering: Master of Science (M.S.), Master of Engineering (M.Eng.), Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) and Doctor of Engineering.
The Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees are research-oriented degrees that allow students to pursue original research. The Master of Engineering and Doctor of Engineering degrees are professionally oriented degrees with coursework that allow graduates to practice engineering at an advanced level.
Additionally, through an agreement with Texas A&M's Mays Business School, a Certificate in Business can be obtained by taking four business related graduate courses, two of which can be applied towards your graduate degree from the Department of Civil Engineering.
